I Have Silver Fillings, What Should I Do?
It’s not impossible to remove a silver filling. It’s challenging, but not impossible. If you decide to have your silver fillings removed, it must be done under ideal isolation so that no mercury vapors enter your system. In our office, we remove silver fillings using rubber dams to isolate your tooth from the rest of your mouth and use an extraoral suction device to remove excess vapor from the surrounding treatment area. With this technology in place, most risks are eliminated. Once removed, we replace them with composite fillings. Tooth-colored fillings are:
