With this in mind, Smile Designs of Olney is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Joshua Lomke, Dr. Mitchell Lomke’s son, to our practice. Dr. Lomke brings with him a wealth of cosmetic expertise that will be an excellent asset to our dental community. Like Father, Like Son
Dr. Lomke grew up in this office along with his siblings, watching his father practice, which is where he developed his desire to become a dentist. After finishing high school right down the road at James Hubert Blake High School, Dr. Lomke received his B.S. in biology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2011. He was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2015, graduating near the top of his class. While in school, he was awarded membership to multiple honors organizations, including Gamma Pi Dela Prosthodontic Honors Society, GORGAS Odontological Honors Society, and Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity.
Following graduation, Dr. Lomke spent almost four years working in Connecticut mastering his craft, while working with a nationally renowned cosmetic and full mouth rehabilitation dentist. During that time, Dr. Lomke gained a wealth of knowledge about complex cosmetic dental treatments, including veneers, porcelain crowns, cosmetic bonding, teeth whitening, and full mouth reconstruction. We are excited for him to share these skills with our patients!
Dr. Lomke decided to return to the Mid-Atlantic Region to be closer to his family, and his mission is to provide only the most excellent treatment and dental care to his community. Dr. Lomke is a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, and Southern Maryland Dental Society, and participates in a vast amount of continuing education courses to provide the most modern and efficient technologies to his patients.

Dr. Lomke likes to spend his time exercising, golfing, and playing with his mini Goldendoodle puppy, Dunkin! Just like his father, Dr. Joshua Lomke has a passion for his craft and cares about connecting with the people that he treats. “Being able to interact with my patients and getting to know them and their families is one of the best parts of my job. I strive to build trust and long-lasting relationships with my patients. The best days for me as a dentist come when, by improving my patient’s teeth, I can give them a renewed sense of confidence in themselves.
